Some boards have plenty of room between the pedals, others have the pedals spaced as closely as geometry allows. When you are laying out your pedals for attaching to your board, cutting cable and running power, do you tend to: a) leave enough space between pedals to allow the signal cable to be inserted and removed without moving adjacent pedals, or b) space them very closely in a way that you couldn't unplug one pedal without disturbing adjacent pedals? |

I actually downsized from a Pedaltrain Pro when I started zeroing in on what I wanted. At this point it's a process to try and swap out any pedal on my board outside of my phaser (currently a HBE Psilocybe rather than the DOD) but that's the way I like it. |

In fact I don't even leave room for plugs and cables, I just set the pedal output jacks so close to each other that the signal just jumps across the tiny gap from pedal to pedal. |

This is a problem, because I have a VT Bass on the way, and I plan on buying a Copilot Android and a Wilson Freaker Wah. More importantly, the Amazing Technicolor Nightmare Pedalboard can't even handle my current load (my 105Q is on the floor).
Well, judge for yourselves:

Closely for me. If they aren't close, then there is wasted space on the board. If there is a heap of space left over, id prefer to have a smaller, easier to handle board.

I like to bounce around a bit on stage - in between vocal demands - so having the pedals spaced apart a bit gives me a better chance of hitting the effect I want
Honestly - some of the pedalboards I've seen in the "post your pedalboard" threads don't look very functional for a fella like me with big feet.
Lots of 3pdt switches only 3 or 4cm apart! Wow! |

I've got a good number of pedals on my board, and I don't want to carry two boards. (right now, anyways..) |

Not that my DT-10 is a horrible unit, but I would have liked to fit everything on my pedalboard as opposed to running it off of the "Tuner Out" on my "Mo' Control 2" controller and sitting off to the side. |

I usually try to get some sort of diagonal pattern happening so the stomp switches on the second row are between pedals on the front row, but it never really works very well. I think I should just have less pedals.

With my current board setup, I couldn't even step on the switches for my Bass Big Muff and VT Bass if I wanted to, and my Micro POG pedal is completely hidden from view (as is my Boss VF-1, but that one has no footswitch). | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
