A "How Do I Get This DUB Sound" Thread (Trifonic Content)

Maybe it's just a flismy pretext to share this band. But I'm curious about the dub tone on this and the DUBSTEP WOB3LE thread is a little to daunting. Perhaps just too many suggestions so I thought I'd start a thread featuring a particular clip. I'm not trying to recreate this song,...but the sound for use in one of my projects.

A TBer suggest this group to me and I really love this beautiful song. I'm curious about copping the synth sound, what pedals will get me there.

I've tried using Octave-->Fuzz and setting the LFO on a Source Audio Tri-Mod Wah but I'm missing the swells and it sounds a little too organic.

I'm sure it's a keyboard in the original and possibly a bass doing the clean lines.

Any suggestions?

Also enjoy the song. I think it's awesome.

could try: a lowpass filter first in the chain for the actual dub.

then a fuzz+tremolo in a loop which you switch on and off for the beginnings of each note.

EDIT: I gotta get me some Trifonic in my collection! This stuff is ace!

Is there much difference between Trem and the LFO on the Tri-Mod. I've got a Bass MuRF with an LFO on I've yet to try too. I'll have to try the different filters on the Tri-Mod,...but I'm wondering if there is some sort of filter sweep,...or volume swell that I'm not sure how to replicate.

I love how the video complements the music... That it's so robotic (yet alive) at first, but then it moves on to scenes of nature.. then it's artificial again.. but in the whole, it's all about the girl. Is she a robot (very ghost-in-the-shell-ish). Very beautiful.

The music in that video (and other stuff I've heard in the band's myspace) also reminds me a lot of the soundtrack for Mirror's Edge (the game). Awesome. But I guess this is off-topic right? I'm gonna post this in the youtube comments for the vid.

try compressor/limmiter-fuzz/synth-FX25-Or other junk lowpass filter set to trigger up and allow the highs through after the note is played. Compressor will limit the attack to slow response time of the envelope "sensor".
