How do I get the OD sound out of the sansamp BDDI with my Stingray

Sign in to disble this ad
I can't seem to get the "dirty" OD sound out of the sansamp BDDI with my stingray 5(active electronics), I turn the drive all the way up, there's still only a little OD.

I can get it with my cheap washburn xb-5( passive)

any idea?

I think what might be missing is midrange. That's really where you get that overdriven grit, but you're playing a scoopy-sounding bass through a scoopy-sounding pedal. Without that midrange, you'll lose a lot of the overdrive texture.

Consider cutting the bass and treble on the BDDI to raise the mids -- that might get you there.

I'd recommend running both bass and treble around 9:30 and turning presence off completely. With drive boosted all the way that always gets me a lot of crunch.
