Sign in to disble this ad
I've been hearing this "new sound" on some fusion bass players albums and i just cant seem to find a way to make my bass sound like that with any effect... Does anyone have idea how to create these sounds?

Have a look at what pedals they use themselves? Ask them personally if you can.

Start with an OC-2, that is the main ingredient on the videos posted. From there a nice lowpass filter to fatten up the basic tone and maybe some modulation, but mostly the OC-2 was being heard there. (I think the subtle modulation in Janek's video was from his left-hand technique)

In the second clip he's using a Digitech Bass Synth Wah.

This video has a clear shot of the bassist's board from the second clip with an OC-2, a Bass Synth Wah, and some 4 knob orange pedal that I can't identify (for shame).

Maybe an Xotic BB? I'm not sure.

Sounds like some ring modulation in there (especially in the first clip).
