How do I hook up a sansamp BDDI?

Sign in to disble this ad
My friend is letting me borrow his BDDI and his brace audio wireless.
I have a korg dtr-2000 and a GK 800rb. How would I hook up all this beautiful equipment haha.

I would like to know how to hook up the 800rb acting as a power amp and the BDDI as the preamp. And how would I hook it up to use both the 800rb and BDDI working together? I just want to make sure I dont mess this up

To just use the power section of the GK, plug the output from the BDDI directly into the effects return of the GK. This'll bypass the pre-amp and you'll find this *SHOULD* give a clearer tone.

To have the GK and the BDDI working together, just plug the BDDI into the normal Bass input on the GK

If I bypass the preamp all I have to do is one cable from the output of the bddi to the gk? Then the bass just in the front output.
Haha effects are confusing I thought u always have to have inputs outputs fx send and returns all plugged into something

the chain goes like this:

Bass->Wireless->tuner->BDDI->Input on GK (normal input you'd plug you bass into)

if you want to bypass the preamp on the GK, do the same chain, but plug it into the effects return input on the gk rather than the normal one.

Nope; Bass plugged straight into BDDI, then a cable from the BDDI output into the GK effect return. NOTHING plugged into the front of the GK.

BDDI works fine when played into the preamp (input) of the head aswell. In that case "line boost" on BDDI should be depressed. If you play into Effects return you should press it down for a higher level output.

As for tuner, I think the GK has a tuner output. In that case the chain would be wireless->BDDI->GK and tuner should be fed from GK tuner output. It is not really much different from the version suggested here earlier, but probably easier to wire since you don't have to connect cables to rack and back to the floor and then again to the amp.

It doesn't go into the input at all if you want to bypass the preamp, it goes into either an effects return or an aux in. As for the tuner you can either plug it in after your bass and before you put it into the sansamp, or use a tuner out or something else low level from the 800 to not have it in your signal chain (one that makes any sound anyway).
