Here's the clip: http://w15.easy-share.com/11781951.html
Scroll down a little bit past the stupid adds to where there will probably be a 15-second countdown until it will let you download it.
This is a clip of my amigo playing guitar through his Zoom multieffects pedal, and its got distortion and a whammy bar effect on the expression pedal pushed all the way down. I can't make the same sounds through that pedal with the bass, obviously, so I was wondering what I could do instead. Maybe some kind of synthy fuzz?

Shroom, the other pedal that springs to mind is the Subdecay Noise Box. Check out this thread from grygrx. Sample five seems like it's in the same ballpark as the clip that you posted. |

| | | | I've heard the Subdecay Noise Box and liked it, but holy crap! I just listened to the samples in that thread and now I'm pretty much set on getting one! My only complaint is I'd like something that sounds a little cleaner. I don't mean less fuzz or anything, it's just that there were some parts that got kind of gurgly.
As for the Prunes and Custard, I'll have to check it out. Any idea where I could find sound clips?

I don't know about "cleaner" per se (it's inability to be tamed is part of its charm IMO) but I've really liked the results when running it in the loop of a blender. |

| | | | Yeah! I've thought about doing something like that. The more I read up about effects it sounds like It's gonna take tons of that type of tweaking to get my ideal tone(s). I've also heard of using a preamp with a crossover so I could apply specific effects to just the highs/lows.
But for the next couple years, or until I'm a rich famous rock star, I'm aiming for just a couple good pedals.
How would you say the Noise Box compares with the Prunes and Custard? |

You might want to try a overdrive and octave combo so you can tweak your sound just the way you want, and the possibilities are endless! almost.. |

It probably isn't a very accurate reproduction as a result.

Let's record that so I can post it on a forum," and recorded it through his pedal into the computer. I've listened to it both at his place and mine and it sounded fine.
And yeah, he was just playing a random riff/jam so we'd have something recorded, so it gets a little dirty in some spots. |
