This. Or turn on the more obvious pedal on the beat and the less obvious one one beat after.
A Boss LS-2 is a great pedal but may be overkill for what you ask. I personally use something called a Loooper on my guitar board (
www.loooper.com) that I bought back in 2005 or 2006, but
http://loop-master.com/ and
http://www.this1smyne.com/product_list/custom/looper/ will all do pretty much the same thing. All have great build quality.
Then again, an LS-2 has so many good options on it that you may want to buy one as it really does a lot of cool things and is a swiss army knife of sorts for changing which pedals are in your signal and which are not.
