im sure its different for different pedals but i dont understand if you have a pedal baord where would you plug them all in.

it seems unrealistic that you would have them all battery powered

im sure theres somthing im missing and if this is covered sumwhere else just give me a link ty.

I personally use a Dunlop DC brick, but the Pedalpower and other names are all very similar.

I'd avoid using the 'daisy-chained' power supplies (eg. Boss) as then all the pedals are powered in series rather than parallel. I won't go into techy detail, as I'm no expert on the subject, but this is really best avoided!

Some players do power all their pedals by battery. I believe both players for the Red Hot Chilli Peppers do. Flea only has about 3 or 4 pedals, but John has half the stage taken up with his board! I'm sure I heard that he gets the batteries changed daily too.

I use a One Spot... Powers 9 pedals, two of which can power 2 others...

Deep Impact doesn't freak out either... Everything is clean and tucked away, neatly run...

Cost $30

i've been using a 1Spot and it works with all my pedals EXCEPT my 105Q. When i hook it up, there's a serious drop in overall volume. like, non-existent sound.
the wah works fine (tested it with a battery), but it just don't work in the chain. any ideas?

sorry to derail. otherwise, my 1spot works well. i don't use too many pedals, tho...

strange that... I use my one-spot with my 105q in the chain and its fine. have you exceeded the total MA of the one-spot by adding that?

Almost.

I repaired one a while ago and every output has a resistor and a capacitor for a little bit of filtering but nothing more. Definitely nothing high-tech or very clever.

I use two 1 spots. My Neo Fuzz needs a dedicated power supply so it has it's own 1 spot and the other 5 pedals are on a single 1 spot with no problems.

Ah, no. The Dunlop is not similar to the Pedal Power except superficially. And the other power supplies in that brick-shaped format are all different enough in their capabilities to where I would not lump them together.

Ah, no. Daisy chains run in parallel, otherwise they would not be able to provide 9V at each output. You are confusing series/parallel with isolated/non-isolated, which is the big difference between a daisy chain (1Spot, Godlyke, or Dunlop Brick) with something like the BBE Supacharger or Voodoo Labs Pedal Power, which have isolated outputs.

Isolation reduces problems associated with using pedals which have reverse polarity on their power plugs, and it can solve some other noise issues related to grounding within a pedal. Of course it costs a lot more, which is why the Brick and the 1Spot etc. are so popular.

PowerDesigns TW347D Dual Output DC power supply 0-18V 0-5A Cleanest power for all your needs if it was rackmount, it would take up more than 5 spaces. It is roughly as big as a HP PC case. It powers up every pedal on the stage, not only mine, but for the whole band I am guessing it will power up more than a couple of hundred pedals at once

another one spot user. my dog even ate through the cable (while it was plugged in) and a bit of electrical tape and it's fine. I have several of the daisy chain cables that i've cut for different pedal configurations. . . always works fine.

Cheap and gets the job done nicely. I've powered keyboards and pedals off the same chain. Really convenient. All kinds of adapters are available too.

One Spot here too. All my pedals take good ol' 9V power with no funky requirements.

My board is powered. 8 9volts, and 3 various wall warts, all plugged directly into the board, SKB PS45. 1 plug to the wall, and everything is lit up and ready to start stompin'. If you're thinking about a board, the Pedaltrain's get alot of love around here, but I went with the self contained variety, and it's working out perfectly for my set up.

If you've seen my board as of late you'll have noticed I've had to upgrade to Uranium.

So far it's working well but my hair has been falling out a bit more often.
