to get the funk out of ya. bassballs could do it.
but i would recommend the micro Q-tron which is better voiced in my opinion

It's so unlike other filters, it would be difficult to justify as your ONLY filter. Very nasally sounding. Mine is currently off the board, but because I'm short on room, not for lack of love.

I use them in conjunction with my Q-Tron, my wah and my BMS. Needless to say, it doesn't sound like a normal ESP bass.

Ha ha! You know that funky bass synth upper register gliss in "I Wish"?

That's perfect with the bassballs, distortion on.

i use mine as a keyboard bass emulator. with the dial at around 9'oclock and the distortion on, it does a pretty convincing keyboard synth sound.

that same setting with the distortion off sound pretty cool too, nice and vowel like and funky.

I use it when my Q-tron is well.. too clean *L*

I used to run 2 BB's.. that was an interesting sound... but I have consolidated, so my board has half the balls it used to...

For a long time I had the same problem, but since I put it in the loop of the x-blender, it´s like that extra kinda thing to my clean sound.

I like using it alone, but most of the time, when I kick the BassBalls, I usually stomp also on a delay for a very psycho tone [you can really see the notes fading away up in the cosmos !!!], or my Q-Tron + to generate vocal-like notes.

I stomp the BassBalls all the time for solos with and w/o fuzz and there are a couple of song that I use the balls on for part or all of the tune. I personally like the variety of tones I can tweak from it all by simply changing my touch and using it with other effects. I also use it on funky guitar parts.

I don't. It sits in my 'bits' bag unused.

I found that that it only sounded good in one particular setting and was only really useful on about 1 song. So I picked up a boss v-wah second hand, which yes, doesn't sound quite the same, but is a hell of a lot more versatile.

I have mine set to 9 o'clock. I have used it with and without distortion, and in covers and original songs.

The song on my bands myspace page "Soul is Waiting" has a Bassballs bass line in the bridge before the last chorus... The settings were a little different... I think 12 o'clock or so...

I used it this weekend alot...I love this thing...

Now that they are discontinued, snatch them up...
