How do you use your DL-4?

Hey all,

My DL-4 has been seeing very little action as of late. I was just curious as to how others have been using it to possibly re-spark some of my lost interest for it.

Thanks!

Do what I did (twice)...sell it.

Are you using or do you want to use it mostly for looping for for three preset delays?

It's a great pedal, but mine has become a paper weight.

It's going to be replaced by 2 analog delay pedals.

What I do with mine? I don't have one. I'd use one as a paper weight as well, those buttons are horrid! So many complaints from customers when I have to tell them to deal with the Line 6 manufacturer warranty :/...

Should have got that performance guarantee!

Yeah this is pretty much the exact situation i'm in... I have an EHX #1 Echo (i dunno what it is but i LOVE This pedal), a BYOC Analog Delay and an Akai Headrush E2 that pretty much cover everything... The only thing i have really done with the DL-4 as of late is to use it with a few other pedals to make a 'meh' sounding space echo...

mine hasnt seen much use since my originals band folded in '05 but back then it was a no brainer in my board. preset 1 was a rhythmic delay with 1 repeat (think of the delay EVH used on cathedral, and move it to bass) preset 2 was the sweep echo (my fave on the dl4) and preset 3 varied depending on my needs (was usually a "one of these days" type analouge sound) and the tap tempo was a godsend....but i was so much of a stomper on it i wore it out. i cant remember if i got a warranty fix done on it but if i didnt it didnt cost much.

i used the looper when i was writing to experiment with different stuff, and cool as it was, it was really just a gimmick.

it has served me well and still comes out on occasion.

Although I rather like Line 6 digital emulation of pedals and amps, I never was that impressed with their delay models.
If you are referring to Roland Space Echo modelling, the RE-20 does a fair job at it. But that pedal is too big for what you can get out of it.

I'm getting two Malekko Echo Bright pedal this week (300 and 600) and I am hoping they can replace my love for digital delays.

Instead of the DL-4 I rather have an old trusty BOSS DD-3 or two on my board.

Not that the DL-4 is that bad of a pedal, but I want it more simple in my effect chain.
(Except for the tremelo I have on order, that's going to be a psychedelic complicated beast. It's white and I think I will get a lot of envy from the regulars in the effects forum. )

So, is there anything (else) out there that does a respectable Space Echo AND Deluxe Memory Man in one box (with tap tempo)? Because those are probably my two favorites.

I just want the loop section put into a small pedal. Nothing massive or complicated, just ultra simple live looping with that brilliant one-shot loop function that no other looper seems to have.

But until then, I've fended of buying a DL-4 since that is all I really want.
