How to get power?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm in the precess of building my pedalboard, and I've got some questions on powerering the pedals.

Pedals:
Sansamp BDDI (always on)
Boss Flanger
Boss DD5
Washburn Chorus (would be on for a whole song)
Digitech Autowah/ Bass Synth (would be on for a whole song)

So, the most I would ever have on at 1 time is the sansamp plus one other pedal. Would I be ok with the daisychain power systems or do I have to spend the big $ on a Voodoo pedal power or equivelant? A typical gig is 4 hours for us, so the Sansamp would be on for 4 hours straight oh the power supply I use.

You'll be fine with a decent daisychain setup. Just make sure it has a fairly high power rating. I wouldn't bother with less than 500ma. The One-Spot adaptor is easily available, and it has either 1500ma or 2000ma. Either one would be more than enough to power your pedals.

Also, it (generally) does not matter whether a pedal is on or off, unless it is true bypass, it will suck the same power regardless of whether it is on or off. At least, that has been my experience.
