Based on what I am hearing here:

"Synth" effects: Slow Gear type pedal + reverb will get you close, the Eventide PitchFactor's Crystals setting and ModFactor's Undulator setting also sound similar.

"Warp" effects: blendable (or in a blender loop such as a VB Jr. or X-Blender) Reverb or Delay set to reverse with a foot controlled/controllable pitch shifter after it (DigiTech Whammy, PitchFactor, HOG) set to -4 Octaves/dive bomb.

"Alien" effects: ring modulator or bit crusher such as the WMD Geiger counter, the last few sound like a modulation unit like the ModFactor set to a fast speed and a random sample/hold modulation.

"Sonic" effects: reverb set to a very short delay, the delay that keeps going up in pitch can be achieved with a PitchFactor.

Line6 M9/13 has some reverbs (Octo verb and Particle verb) that sound pretty much like Space station.

Totally forgot about multi-effects units.

That's what I was thinking. It has a Space Station setting that sounds pretty cool with bass, plus a bunch of other cool stuff. I kinda regret selling mine.

Yeah, the EX-7 does the "synth swell" thing from the first 6 or 7 modes on the Space Station. Their are many other modes on it though, so I'm curious WHICH Space Station sound you're trying to get. It has has a resonator, a ring mod, a bitcrusher, a sample and hold, and some wacky delay settings as well.

I don't regret selling mine. I had one in the 90's and thought it was a t#rd. Let me guess.. they go for a bazillion dollars now?

I thought it sounded terrible, you couldn't edit the parameters beyond ONE per effect that the maker chose for you, it tracked poorly on bass.... I could go on. C.R.A.P.

Just get an M9.. then you can tailor your sounds to your rig.

I'm getting the Ex-7 while on tour. All I need out of it are whammy and String Synth. Since I cannot see spending over 200 for a space station.

I've been tempted to get an EX7 but it would really only be for experimentation and I don't have good experience with multi's. Let me know how it sounds on bass though, have heard conflicting accounts.

I am looking for the Synth swells and the crazy warp effects. They are about $500 dollars or so on ebay and just after a more cost effective alternative.
