How good is EQ of MXR M80 Bass DI?

How good is its EQ section? I'm thinking about using it mostly as an EQ pedal for my passive basses.

BTW, does anyone know the mid frequency of the M80? I couldn't find it at Dunlop's Web site.

The EQ works well. It's very transparent and just does what it's meant to. I find is does the job on passive basses.

The EQ is as follows:
Bass +/- 18db 60 hz shelving
Mid +/- 10db 850hz
Treble +/- 12db 4Khz shelving

I own several of the DIs folks all say are the required (and more expensive).

an MXR M-80 is a solid built quiet di.. the distortion is kind of silly .. the rest is very well done.

It also buffers phantom if you want it to.

----

I've recorded in very high end (Trident board type places) with an M80 and cheap passive bass.. the tracks turned out sounding like $$$$$$$$$$.

It is one of the cleaner signal DIs of the 20 or so I own.... it records and gigs "warmer" than a $$$$$$$ radial I own.

NOTE: If you want a tubey distortion, may not work, just a bit of spectrum bite, it's totally fine.

Exactly.

My M80 is always in-line, but I only hit the Distortion button when we're goofing off.
