A Muff and a TFP "The Goose", which is like a much more flexible version of a Prunes and Custard. I have had three before, which were various combination of multiple muffs, Brassmaster Clones or MXR M-80 distortions. There have been others come and go as well.

One cuts through any mix, one is heavy as fook and feeds back like a god damn, and one oscillates until my eardrums pierce the sky.
Overkill, yes. Who cares?

Does it include a clean signal? |

Call me crazy, but i think I may like my SP MkII better than my Bluebeard. I just cant decide between the two and I can get them to sound fairly close to one another.
A part of me wants to get rid of one or the other and replace it with a B:assmaster or OX Bass fuzz |

They can get very raunchy, very nasty and are great. Mos have a seperate clean signal level and fuzz level, and those seem to work better than a "blend" IMO.
Perhaos you should sel the BBM and fund the purchase a blend pedal with a phase inverse. Try it with the SP and BB and see if you like it, especially in a band situation.
If one works, keep it and sell off the other. If neither works, then you may be barking up the wrong tree. Maybe try a White Russian.

The thing is, I love both pedals in a band setting, just dont know which one I like more. Ill probably keep both and switch them in and out depending on the day and mood. I think the BBM is going on the chopping block though. I need something other than a muf based circut. |

If you like a Fear factory style tone, then I would suggest you try an MXR M-80 or better yet a Blowtorch. It would add a distortion instead of another fuzz to your arsenal.
Otherwise, try a Brassmaster clone like a Black Cat Bass Octave Fuzz or a B:assmaster. There are tons others as well. I think Bogden is making one called the Polemaster. |

For playing by myself, having different muffs would be great, but in a heavy band, once the g****rs kick in, for me having more than one muff is useless. I struggle to cut through the mix as it is, so I have the muff EQ'd to do so and in a blender.
Vegas recommended I get the GGG Brassmaster for my hollowbody, as muffs and hollowbodies DO NOT MIX...AT ALL. This fuzz is completely different in texture and EQ making it very versitile. This is also in a blend on my board.
Different strokes for different folks, ya know? For me, personally, having more than one muff on the board for my situation would be useless, other than to say "look at me! I can build muff clones for me pedalboard." |

I've had a fuzz on there, but I'm looking for some kind of modulation that I'll actually use instead. I'm not big on subtle differences for my pedalboard, so a distortion or fuzz is usually close enough. |

Digitech Bad Monkey
Guttermouth Catatstrofuzz
Voodoo Superfuzz
Voodoo Sparkle Drive
The bad monkey may be coming off since I got my M-2000 though. |

Oh, and my Supercollider fits my Jack Cassady like a glove. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
