i know of the brown dog, nocto loco, zvex fuzz factory and wm. What else is there?

The B:assmaster isn't necessarily gated, but can definitely do gated sounds.

Are you looking for anything that is simply "gated" in that there is a clean break between notes, or are you looking for on-board gate controls?

B:assmaster in loop of Qtron+: A very quick and controllable synthy filter.

im really not into fuzzes per se since i don't use them on their own but more so with octaves and filters. the brassmaster is cool but way too big in size for what i'd do. the boss hm-2 and zvex fuzz factory are the only ones that have been doin it for me recently. just checkin to see whats out there. im thinking something like the nocto since im into dub sounds.

Big John Hairy Balls is a gated fuzz.

I don't know much about "gated", but as user experience: it is great for fast metal riffs.
It doesn't muddy up the tone then when the gate is turned off.

Also, I am getting kinda a brass like response.

MXR Blowtorch, Wounded Paw Attack Goat, Electronix Messdrive, several Devi pedals (like the Supermassive Black Hole aka Bass Fuzz), Copilot Orbit, Zvex Box of Metal*, Source Audio's distortions*, MI Audio GI* and Neo* fuzzes, Big John Hairy Balls*, Crowther Audio Prunes and Custard, PE Depth Charge, Brassmasters, Zoom Ultra Fuzz* are a few.

*=onboard gate/bias control

I wouldn't describe the Prunes&Custard as gated- much different sound and feel imo.

The Pollyanna is a gated fuzz/octave reminiscent of the Nocto Loco in that sense, and has a knob that controls the gate of the suboctaves and gain of the +oct.

I listed it due to the clean cut-off of notes, is all, despite the burps, chirps, blips, bleeps, and lazers inside.

the nocto loco is gated, but just in 1oct/-2oct/-3oct mode. by using the non-octave mode, it turns into one of the sickest fuzzes i ever heard. but then it's not gated at all (yeah, that's the cool thing about it...).
i would say the nocto is more like a gated octave-down fuzz.
