As you can see by all the "pricematch", "blem", and "eBay" notations I try my damnedest to track down the best price I can find listed on the web and have Musician's Friend (my primary source as I use their credit) match the price. This has saved me significant amounts of money, especially with the Pedaltrain PT/2-HC and DigiTech JamMan (which were also purchased using a 20% coupon MF mailed out as an apology for their awful service while moving last Summer), the Xotic effects (which normally sell for between $180 and $220), and my original full-sized E-H POG which I returned due to size and power issues but which I paid $274 as opposed to the "sale" price of $324. I also highly recommend becoming a member of ASCAP: besides the licensing if your a successful writer, MF.com and Guitar Center give you 5% off purchases. Every little bit helps.

...being much more than I initially expected, I also don't even want think of how much would be added to the end result if I hadn't sold off my Bass Whammy and Deep Impact to fund other pieces of gear.

Shocking, as it's worth more than my bass (SUB 5 I bought for about $500), but it's not too bad considering I've bought everything used and didn't pay full price. My Q-tron+ is my most expensive pedal at just over $100, new it would have been about twice as much.
