How to repair a dunlop bass wah with a broken switch

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everyone - just repaired my broken bass wah so i thought I'd post the repair info on here incase anyone else has the same trouble because i couldnt find any info on the net about this.

So my bass wah kept getting stuck in either the "on" or "off" position and i tried adjusting the height of the circuit board so that the switch would have more or less pressure on it but this didn't help. Then the wah stopped working.

My initial thought was that it had to be the switch as it was behaving erratically before it died anyway so after a grueling search (no parts are listed for these pedals on the net) I managed to find the right switch. When i replaced the switch it worked.

So if you experience the same problem you need a Tactile switch (or tact switch) with a 5mm shaft, you can get these from farnells part number: 959-698 (OMRON ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS|B3F-1070|SWITCH, TACTILE, PCB, SPNO | Farnell United Kingdom)

All you need to do is to de-solder the switch from the underside of the board and solder in the new one easy! Also the switch will only fit one way!

Hope this helps someone!

Yup I had to do that switch replacement several years ago with my 1st 105Q wah. I had that 1st pedal since like 2002.
But the wah sweep doesn't work much anymore, so I bought a new 105Q last year.
