How's the Double Muff?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been looking for a fuzz that'll satisfy me (believe me, I'm very picky when it comes to overdrive/distortion/fuzz sounds). I saw the EHX Double Muff and it looks interesting. However, I haven't found any bass samples of it.

Does anyone have one, or tried one out? How is it on bass?

I had one once. I was very unimpressed with it on bass.

Seconded. Its fuzz effect on bass ranges from too-subtle-to-detect to if-ears-could-squint-maybe-they-could-hear-it to a frustrating tease of peachfuzz.

Didn't like the sound, hard to control.

I've had mixed feeling about it. When it gets dialed in just so its perfect for one particular sound I'm looking for. The problem is dialing it in and keeping it in. I've been having some weird issues with volume drastically spiking without touching the knobs at all.

It's still on my board but probably not for long. I think its sounds can be replicated, if you so choose, in a more reliable and far more diverse box.

Its definatly a good pedal.
I still use mine, it gives it a very deep sound. And when the double is kicked in, oh man, its to much to handle.
But for the price they are excellent pedals
