Question Hum canceling pedal- Which one will suit my needs?

Sign in to disble this ad
Alright, I've come to the conclusion that I have a ground hum issue between my Line6 Bass Pod Pro (Non-XT) and my Sunn 1200s. I'm trying to decide between these 3 pedals:

ISP Decimator
Boss NS-2
Electro-Harmonix Hum Debugger.

Which one do yu guys think will work best for me?

Thanks in advance.

better idea: fix the ground issue as no good can come of it (it could electrocute you, and methinks you wouldn't enjoy it too much)

Are you sure it isn't a power issue? Are you daisy chaining?

What do you recommend I do to try and fix it? I've tried using a 3 to 2 prong adapter and tried running cables every way I can think of. I've even been emailing Conrad Sundholm(One of the founders of Sunn amps). I tried everything he said with no success, except he recommended I try lifting the ground connection on the cable I have running from my line6 to my Sunn, but I was hesitant to try it.

I don't think so, but any ideas are welcome. I'm using a Furman PL-Plus power conditioner.

And could somebody define daisy chaining? I think I know what is but clarification can't hurt

Daisy chaining is powering many pedals from a single high-amp power unit like a Visual Sounds 1Spot. You use a cable with many output jacks to supply the power to all your pedals:

Well the only pedal I have is a Toneworks AX1B, which I rarely use anyway, so I'm definitely not daisy chaining. My Bass POD is a rack unit and is plugged into my power conditioner.

Post I discovered the source of my buzz!!!!

It is some sort of grounding issue with my Furman PL-Plus power conditioner. My rig is completely buzz-free when my power conditioner is not touching any part of my line6 Bass pod, but when they are stacked on top of each other, there is buzz. This all makes sense now because my bass rig was stacked like this:

Power conditioner
Line6 bass POD Pro
Sunn 1200s

So when I wasn't using the POD, it acted as a buffer between the conditioner and the head, but when I did use it, the ungrounding of the power conditioner created a buzz.

So now my question is:
How can I stop the ungrounding of my Power conditioner? Could I just put something between the conditioner and my POD and have it be safe?
