Currently headed my direction:

Humphrey Audio Mods Boss CS-3 Bass Smasher
Humphrey Audio Mods Badder Bass Monkey

Not to mention the Sadowsky pedal preamp I just picked up from another TB'er...

I am dancing with anticipation!

I must get around to recording some monkey clips, I've not heard any around here but a few people have asked for them...

Absolutely! I'm hoping that this is "the one" when it comes to my compression hopes and dreams.

Received the pedals!

Ok, first impressions here...

The Badder Bass Monkey is an interesting one. I'll state up front that I am VERY happy with the results, but it definitely took some tone tweaking. I ended up boosting the lows just a little and cranking the highs wide open. It does sound "tubey", and is exactly the subtle overdrive I was looking for. Very little, if any, low-end loss.

As for the CS-3...WOW! I'm happy as can be with that little gem! No hiss, and it can go from transparent to slamming compression with just a few tweaks. Sustain works gorgeously as well (and can easily lead to feedback, so careful!). Between the Sadowsky preamp pedal and this, I've got more punch than a pro boxer.

End result is that both are definitely keepers...even my drummer was going nuts over the tone.

Cool, I love my Humprey modded CS-3 too (1000 times better than the stock version).
