Hybrid Rack-Mount / Pedal Board?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have my pedals on a typical pedalboard. I like the convenience of using the foot switches, but find the displays and markings difficult to see, and the knobs awkward to adjust at floor level (I'm not as young as I used to be).

I've seen some players who place their pedals on a pull-out shelf in a rack. What I've been thinking about is a hybrid system in which the effects are rack-mounted - making the knobs easy to see and adjust - with a floor-mounted multi-button pedal that can be used to take each pedal in or out of the signal path, and a single umbilical running from the pedal to the rack.

If you can tell me what kind of gear would be needed to achieve a hybrid installation, and who sells it, I'll be grateful.

Any solutions that don't require a midi interface?

it would be quite useless running all those cables that length. that and programmability are the main reason for the midi controller and rack placement.

there is a company from HK/china offering few solutions for jawdropping price. nothing as complex as voodoolab, but programmable.
