I think a blown tube amp can give you the sound of that many rattlesnakes

Just before I left for work I read this and used this to get the "Hypnotoad":

EBOW (playing so it slightly overdrives slightly away from the neck pup)
Boss OC-2 (-1 only)
Boss RV-3 (set to mode 5: slight reverb with roughly 500msec delay)

I used the EBOW to purposefully and rhythmmically change the ocatve tracking on the OC-2 to make it glitch.

I used the delay to fill it in nicely....

That was a pretty interesting little read, can't say I'd ever given the sound much thought.

I used it for a while as my voicemail greeting so people wouldnt leave me voicemail on my personal phone :-p

(I despise having to see I got a missed call from someone, call my voice mail, enter my password, listen to someone saying to call them back, hang up, and call them. If you don't know I'm going to call you back when I see you've called, leave a text. but that's beside the point)

Oh gahd. I never though to use this as a bass tone. Next goal in life.
