The Creation Audio Labs MK 4:23 looks awesome, and it sounds awesome, but is there something more reasonable?

How is the EHX LPB-1?

You can look into the ebayz or into people who make clones/replicas which would allow to have something that looks "different" for your board.
I'm interested to hear Bongo's thoughts on that pedal! |

Absolutely fantastic, no noise, lottsa boost (+24dB). I had the LPB-1, and although it's fine, it is a little noisey. I just can't deal with added noise.

Another nice clean boost is the Lizard Leg Blue tail. |

Although don't rush out and buy one, i'm waiting for their new pedal to come out, and every order they get between now and then slows that down! Ha.

Which is why i sold the DB-3 and got mysef another line boost. Thats just imo. The db-3 sounds great on guitar though. |

| | | | Xotic makes an RC Boost for bass, I'm actually using the guitar version on bass. It's fantastic for clean boosting and as a preamp with the EQ controls. |

* Wobo Buffer/booster -- thing on this one is that the buffer is always engaged, even when the boost is not... so you always have a buffer for the last 10-15' of cable before your amp... this is a very clean boost
* Fulltone Fatboost -- does as the name implies, is out of the signal chain entirely when pedal is off
* SIB Fatdrive -- kinda clean I guess, but definitely adds some fatness. My personal favorite... it's a big pedal and AC-powered... definitely not as uber-transparent as the Wobo

Pretty simple circuit and it gives more than enough boost. It gives more than I need anyways
