I made this pedalboard out of a Rubbermaid shelf from Home Depot, cut to size in-store. Sanded off the shelf's original topcoat and spraypainted it black (sloppy job, but it works for me!). Measured out velcro strips, cut and paste, removed the rubber feet from the pedals and replaced them with opposite velcro. I got some vinyl bumpers too and put them on the bottom corners of the board, so no slipping or sliding.
I have plans to clean up the wire, and while I realize this design doesn't take expansion into account, I haven't had the need for more pedals in a long time. I still have the end that was cut off the original shelf, and I can glue that on if I decide to get a volume pedal or something larger.
The VT Bass is going into my head's effects loop, so I'm running a bunch of cables, but I'm sure I'll find a way to keep it tidy on stage.
My first DIY project, costing me about $40, and no power tools required aside from the saw at Home Depot. Just wanted to show off my quick accomplishment!
