I don't know much about Wah, but which of these choices makes more sense?

So I want to get a wah effect alla Burton's on Anethesia.

Here's the two options that I can do to get any sort of "Wah-ing" on:

1) Get an expression pedal and use it with my Enigma

2) Get a Wah pedal

Either way I'm buying something. Which one's better? Is there perhaps a good wah pedal that doubles as an expression pedal? I wouldn't want to buy a crappy wah just because it doubles as an expression.

Get a dedicated Wah. Its less to step on midsong. He used a Morley Power Wah, so start there. I would say skip the Morley bass wahs altogether and go straight to Dunlop, EBS, or any number of guitar wahs.

Ahh.. yes. I would have to switch the Enigma on, and then wah it with the expression, and then get it switched back off wouldn't I.....

I probably won't find a useable setting on the Enigma that can just be on all the time during that particular song.

Granted, I'm not buying a pedal to play one song, but it's a good example nonetheless.

THe other thing is that the odds of the Enigma as a Wah settings being the same settings as Enigma as envelope filter are extremely not good, which means you would have to get down and twiddle between songs.

Get a wah pedal. If you want to use the exp pedal with the Enigma get one, but I can almost guarantee that it's not going to sound as good as a real wah pedal. Should make the Enigma sound pretty cool though.

+1 on buying a wah pedal. Chances are, you'll use it for the many other metallica songs you will play in the future

Ya I'm kind of looking at the new Morley TM Stevens Wah. Or a Weeping Demon. Or.... Ya too many wahs to look at.

I know nothing about these guys, or what the difference is. Then of course all the sound sample are clean so you can hear the "wah" sound, but I have no idea what it will sound like through distortion like on anethesia.

I guess versatility is the key. I guess that may mean the Weeping Demon. That's what people seem to say about it. You can dial in a classic funk wah, or get the screaming distortion wah.

It's gonna come down to public opinion
