Alright peeps,

I've got $200 to spend on some new effects.

I play hard rock/metal mostly and have a TU-2 Tuner and VT Bass pedal running into a GK 700rb-II and an Ampeg 810.

What would be some killer pedals to add on?

Suggestions????

A good cheap od is the bad monkey then put a bigger cap in the c11 spot and you have the bass modded badder monkey. I ordered a Sanford and Sonny Bluebeard fuzz that I am anxiously awaiting. Listen to the bassfuzz.com review of it. Envelope filters are fun too.

Upgrade to VT deluxe maybe? Gets you more flavours of what you are liking already for about 100 bucks + shipping if you're trading on TB.

Leaves 100 for a chorus or a crazy distortion or something. I dunno I'm not really a pedal guy.

Or some nice level attenuating custom earplugs.

So I checked out your myspace...

Based on the genre, I'd spring for a Superfuzz variant like the Tentacle Fuzz. But that's mostly because I've never heard one in a Death/Thrash context.

Ah heck, why not a chorus ? You can hear one on most of GNR early tunes and sounds great with a bit of OD. Phaser ?
To stun, not to kill.

That's a slippery slope. You want subtle? Over-the-top? Warm? Metallic?

About 2:35 into that song. I recorded that dry and then we added a chorus effect from FL Studio on there... what can get me something similar in a pedal?

Couple of current threads on the subject. As for meeeee, I would do unspeakable things for one'a dose Analogman w/deep switch or setting.

Retro 80s bass chorus pedal?

+1

Also consider a Rumble/Sub-sonic filter.

Here's one: [sfx]:micro-thumpinator

The m5 is interesting... I dunno how I feel about having EVERYTHING in one pedal... single point of failure!

Whammy Pedal

But out some funky bass.

Never personally used an auto-wah, but you get the idea. Try something different.

Hahaha

I laughed pretty hard when I got back to this thread from visiting your Myspace page. Nothing personal.
