i got in a trade...

in a trade the person did not have an extra $50 so i got some pedals. one of these pedals is a boss CE-2 and has a green sticker on the bottom. i didnt know anything about it when i got it, but i went on ebay just to see if i made a stupid trade or not. these pedals are selling for on avg $130 iv seen them up to $180!

so my question is why is this pedal selling for so much? i tried it out and i think my small clone is way better. was there a limited production of them or something? because i tried it on bass and my guitar and couldnt find anything that i liked. then again i thought the big muff pi i bought sounded horrible.

so why is it worth so much? and if you have heard one do you think it sounds good? or do i just not have an ear for good sounds

The CE-2 is an old analog chorus from the 80's.

I think it would be worth closer to the $130 rather than the $180 (at the end of the day its worth what someone will pay I guess). Never tried one, so I can't comment on the sound, but 80s and analog catches attention / higher prices

Yeah, and MIJ with a green sticker = hype. Your best option, if you don't like the sound all that much, is to flip it on Ebay, use the hype, and pocket the money. OTOH if you really like the sound then it's worth the money regardless of the hype. There are some vintage pedals which really are that good.
