i do a variation on the SVT setting, with treble on 9 oclock, drive between 2 and 3, presence between 2 to 3 oclock, and bass set to the situation (usually noon). this is me using it as a pre though, you'd probably be better off with other settings if you using it like a drive pedal.

Pretty much all presets for all pedals suck ... I don't know why that is but it is true.

Well, what are you trying to do with it exactly?

For a generally good rock tone I recommend turning the drive up fairly high and the blend down (between 12 and 3 o clock).

From Bass Player's website:

Quote:
I dialed up a bumping slap tone with DRIVE and PRESENCE at noon, bass at 3 o’clock, and TREBLE and BLEND around 1:30.
Admittedly, I only used this initially for my "slap" tone, but I found out that this is pretty do-it-all tone, since it has a nice trebly crispness to it when playing hard and really digging in. Maybe I increased the presence a bit more...? I don't remember, and my PBDI isn't with me at work. For the covers I play, sometimes I need to emulate the bite of a pick (I am a fingerstyle player), and that setting does really well. Also, it does okay in quieter sections. Try that out.

what I found best was to start with the SVT setting and tweak from there. The pre sets that are in the manual aren't really great for heavy rock but you can get some good tones out of it.
