I like the SABDDI OD, but not the mid scoop

that comes with it.

Anyone have suggestions for an OD with a similar sound but that does not otherwise affect my tone with mid-scooping "emulation"?

The Sansamp RBI (I have one) has a mid knob, which to me seems to take care of that obnoxious Sansamp mid scoop pretty well. I also personally find that I prefer the sound of the RBI by far to the Sansamp BDDI and PBDDI, all of which I have owned at one point or another.

Sansamp VT Bass or DHA VT1 are 2 pedals I've had that come pretty close.

Also, I think the Paradriver is a pedal version of the RBI, but don't quote me on that...

No, the Paradriver is a pedal version of the RPM. The RBI is the rackmount version of the BDDI with a mid control. Also, I have noticed with it much less harsh icepick highs than the BDDI and PBDDI, much less noise than the BDDI and PBDDI, and similar tones to the BDDI and PBDDI as the OP would like, but in my opinion much more realistic, musical, and of course much less mid scooped sounds are possible with the mid knob.

Me too! That's why I sold mine. I just felt like it was voiced waaaay too "disco" for my tastes.

That being said, I love the concept and versatility of it! I'm definitely interested in the ParaDriver....

i was at first disgusted with the mid scoop on my PBDDI

but now wouldent change it for the world. its good that it cuts the mids, for what i use it for. bring my sound to the backround, into the grooving-zone. when it comes time for solos i kick on the jekyll and hyde and everyones thrilled to hear some mids..
