I have and Eden 550 with a ton of compression but moved down to a GK combo for smaller gigs. I need some kind of compressor with the GK rig........is there one that will work with the combo?

Are you wanting a rack mounted one or just a pedal? I have a nice BBE Opto Stomp that works great with all my GK heads and combos.

Check out bongomania's extensive compressor blog and reviews.

My personal fave so far was the FEA dual band stomp box.

Depends how complicated of a device you want, of course.

ART Levelar. Tube compressor, will fit on pedal board, not rack mountable (but they made a two channel unit rack mountable). Sounds good, very reliable, usually under $100.

I think the smallest, cheapest, simplest option that a great many bassists on here (including me) swear by is the BBE Opto Stomp mentioned above. You can usually grab one for about $50 or $60 used.

I know we all have our favourites here.... However, I tried several compressor pedals in the past. Then, I found the MarkBass compressore !!!! Wow, the best of all !And, so quiet it is unbelievable !!! Honestly, the best out there without a doubt in my mind ( for that price range of course ! )

The Boss LMB-3 works pretty good for me.

As singlemalt said, check out bongomania's reviews. There's a link for his top choices at the top: Compressor Reviews

Brief but thorough reviews of compressors and tells you everything you need to know. Based on his recommendation I picked up a secondhand "Love Squeeze". Amazing compressor; doesn't color tone, in a small pedal format -- which is what I was looking for.

Good luck, but DO check out the site!

+1 for Bongomania's site.

I also have the BBE Opto Stomp and love it, especially at it's price point.

Another thumb's up for the OptoStomp from me. Every time I think I don't need it to bring to a gig, I end up wishing I had it with me.

If you like the comp on your Eden head, maybe take a look at the Eden WTDI. Maybe a little pricier than a stand alone comp pedal, but could be the tone you're after.
