hey everyone,
i just started playing bass recently and some friends and i have started to cover some songs. we are playing everything from kiss to alien ant farm to journey. is there a good pedal that can help me get the sounds that they get, if not what would you recommend as a good pedal for someone new.

any input or help would be much appreciated.

+1 on the multieffects. It's a great way to get to know what you like and what you don't.

A used Digitech BP-8 is a great deal, and they have a tube preamp. I think they're around $150 and worth every penny.

Get a Multi-Effects pedal The Zoom B2.1u is a nice one or a BOSS GT-10B or so,

You will get an idea of what pedals you like and add to your sound. Then someday you ill find your self buying individual pedals, power supply, pedal board, tuner,,,, etc

The B2.1u is nice because you can record your playing on your computer via USB. It also has an XLR direct out that is either pre or post EQ/Modeling and has a ground lift function (I'm pretty sure).
