I need help with my ring modulator, advice needed!

I have a moogerfooger ring modulator, i use it with my guitar and my bass. its lots of fun, but the only practical way i can find to use it is for a loose tremolo effect. can anyone tell me how to get more from my moogerfooger? or have any suggestions as to weather i should pack in a sell and buy a new exciting effect...and if so...what!?

pretty confused, someone please shed some light!

have you tried turning the gain knob to max - great overdrive!
ringmodulation - with the oscillator that is onboard you can have the bells & robot sounds.
or with an expression pedal a different flavor of "wah wah".
but you can also send audio signals to the carrier in, a drum machine or whatever - experiment!

as any moogerfooger it takes some time to really learn about all the possibilities.. so try to find out about the sound of the mf-102 and what it can do for your music before you think about selling it - thatīs my advice.

+1, the only way to get more out of it is to put more time and experimentation into it.

I agree with the above, but that said, some people just don't like ring modulation. Maybe you are one of those people. I don't like chorus, and no matter how much time I put into it, I can't make a sound with chorus that I think is interesting.

The Moog effects are fetishized by many, but it's possible to not like them, or find one or all to not be usable in your music. If you don't like it, I would get rid of it (you won't have any trouble) and get something you like.

I agree with everything, thus far. I had the Bass MuRF for a while, and foolishly let it go. Don't get rid of it until you've exhausted the possibilities, like I did.
