I need a pedal for when I play fingerstyle, please help!!!

I currently play 75% of the time with a pick.

My band is typically prog rock, metal, indie influenced so the pick is most appropriate, however, there are times when I do use my fingers for times when smooth is appropriate.

I was lloking for something that would give me a deep low end (dubby if you will) with some punch and take a little bite of the top end.

My first solutions were the linden eq, mxr ten band eq, and the ehx knockout.

What do you guys use or think?

sorry, the reason is I use a sansamp bddi for my always on tone with drive at 10, so my overall tone has a little bite, and it sits in a rack in my fx loop, so i need to be able to switch something on

You could use a Envelope Filter with set with the sensitivity really high to ensure the filter never opens ... hence low pass filter.

The other option that I use in these cases, while I am primarily a fingerstyle player, is I play with my thumb ala Gordon Sumner.

the thumb is an option, but I would rather a pedal, as my thumb is probably the weakest link in my playing, never really got into slap, therefore I never really use it

using your thumb in the manner he suggested and playing slap style are 2 completely different and unrelated things.

Not being a smartass, but if you like the overall tone you are getting, maybe just rolling off some treble on your tone knob might be perfect. You can experiment with different capacitors on your tone pot to fine tune what you want and even if you buy a bunch of caps to experiment it will cost you only a few bucks....

that is an option as I play with the tone knob dimed, it is to my understanding that the tone knob is a high pass filter so I typically like all of my original signal going to my board and I do any sculpting to my tone afterwards

that is what I will probably end up doing, now to just remember to turn it back up when I am done

I thought of this before but I normally dont fool with tone or vol pots, so it is going to be new to me, and when we play shows I would hate to forget

Any experience with the ehx knockout???

Roll back the treble and pluck near the neck with a gentle touch.
