I need some help trying to figure out which order to set my pedals in?

I am setting up my rig for a open mic show this Thursday. I am kind of new to setting up multiple pedals. My pedals are a Behringer BDI 21 D.I box that I run and SVT type setting to the head. My other two pedals are a Boss LMB compression pedal, and a EH Bassballs envelope pedal. What order would be best for running these pedals.

I am thinking effects/compression before the pre-amp and that is what I am using this Behringer for. Running it into a Ampeg SVT-350 head and Fender 4x10 cab.

Most common order is compressor, overdrive, eq, modulation.

I've also seen a lot of players advising envelope filters before the comp b/c they respond better to an unaffected signal and the comp can help control any unwanted volume swells Just got a new comp today so I've been been researching kinda the same thing as I am also somewhat new setting up multiple effects. Good Luck, seems like the bottom line of all advice is experiment with different configurations and use the one that sounds best to you.

well seeing as how you only have 3 pedals, and today is only Tuesday, you should try all the combination's and and see what you like best. nobody can tell you what sound you like. you have to try it out and find out what you like best. not to mention half the fun of pedals is messing around with the order of them to find new sounds!

From bass:

- Bassballs
- Compressor
- DI

to amp.

That way the Bassballs can react dynamically to your playing while the comp takes care of volume spikes that can occur with filters. And your direct signal will contain effects as well.
