Hey guys ! I was considering about buy some pedals.I play funk , slap is my favourite technique but I don't like my guitar tone.I have an Artisan A4 and a Hartke A35.I think I'm gonna buy a compressor and a equalizer maybe I'll buy a Micro QTron a few months later. As compressor I'm planning buy a Boss CS-3 and as equalizer Boss GEB-7.I have a little budget (about 250 $).Could you please let me know If I buy these pedals , can I get a tone which I like (A good slap tone) ? Thanks...

I suspect you don't like your tone because you're playing through a poor amp/ cabinet. Could probably get away with the A35 amp into a better cab short term until you can round up funds for a head. IMO.
I really liked my Micro Qtron when I had it, but one mans funky is a fat tone, while another mans is bubbly and peaky. The Qtron leans toward bubbly and peaky. |

And as for the pedals: check out the BBE OptoStomp compressor, its cheaper than the CS-3 and better IMO (I've owned 2 CS-3s before switching to the BBE).

The EHX Bassballs is an inexpensive (90 $ ?) enveloppe filter and quite funky at that and great for slapping.

It has 7 different modes and you can get decent filter, filter & octave, fuzz and octave effects from it, in addition to a whole boatload of other crazy stuff. New around 90 $, used around 60 $.
