I think its at 202 right now, on the bay.
If it was any good, how come Bootsy wasnt using it on "Super bad" ?
Id rather just invest in a XO Q-Tron+ and a Chunk Brown Dog |

Q: How did you play that solo, and how did you tweak the tone as it evolves?
A: It was off the cuff, on the spot, with only a few overdubs. My solos are never planned. If I could do that, I would really be amazing. The sound at the beginning is the same basic sound as the main track, with some tweaks and turns to my sustainer and Ampeg Sub-Blaster; I managed to navigate the storm. As it evolves, I add a Guyatone Ultron Auto Wah and a Chunk Systems Brown Dog Gated Bass Fuzz. |

Then you open her up—start feeling your way and pushing up on things until they start to get touchy and squirt. That’s when you go in for the thrill. That’s how I imagined it while I was playing. It seems to work every time."
He's right! |

I've often wondered if he ever "shuts it off" so to speak, or if he's pretty much "all Bootsy, all the time." I've come to believe it's the latter though I think he ramps it up when needed. |

As for Crispin Glover, this is my lasting memory of him. I saw it when I was ten and was weirded out, but later figured he was doing sort of an Andy Kaufman bit, but now I think it may have been legit. Weeeeeeird guy.
As for the Ultron, the only clips I've ever heard have made it sound a bit dry and mechanical, not the sort of warm, wet filter I dig. I'm interested to hear more clips of it on bass though. |

I see those old Bootsy space bass solos, and the only way to sound like that is with fuzz I guess. Synth dosnt work. Octave dosnt work. Maybe the brown dog will work
Or should I try a muff and a rat ? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
