Ibanez CP-9 and SD-9 for bass - Opinions?

Sign in to disble this ad
My Boss BCB-60 pedalboard consists of ::

Boss TU-2 tuner > Boss LM-2B limiter > Boss CEB-3 chorus > Boss GE-7B eq

I also have an Ibanez CP-9 Compressor/Limiter and an SD-9 Sonic Distortion that I would like to fill out the last two empty spaces. I think using the CP-9 to super-squash the signal before the SD-9 would be interesting, but my main question is this -

Would you place these two pedals in front of the already existing chain, or afterward?

I'm more interested in creating an overdriven amp sound rather than a noise thing. And I already understand that experimentation is the key, but I'm limited to experimenting at the gig due to current living conditions, and at the gig is not always the best time to try new things. Therefore, any opinions are welcome. Thanks!

The CP9 loses a bit of the low end. The SD9 compresses your signal heavily by itself.
