I like it used as boost clean or a bit of gain.

I love it, it's my little secret.
It can help your tone in a lot of ways. Yes it can do a pretty clean boost (+15 dB in vocal mode) but also a gnarly fuzz.
Combined with the low and hi pass you can turn pretty much any random pedal into something that sounds truly unique.
I use it a lot with my Deep Impact, to sculpt synth tones.
It can make a neck humbucker sound like a single bridge J.
Even the most sterile digital pedal can come to life through it.
You can do the electro low pass thingy too, muting then opening your sound.
Useful, a lot of fun and it's not even expensive.
