Ibanez Tone Lok footswitch is unreliable...?

Sign in to disble this ad
I really like some of the the Tone Lok pedals, but my PM-7 (Phase Modulator) has been hard to switch on, lately. Anyone else have problems with the footswitches on one of these pedals? Can it be fixed or replaced? I use this pedal in a tabletop situation - maybe that's a factor? (not enough pressure or something?)

The Phase Modulators are cool, they get you into the weird Ring Mod noise zone at low budget prices (um, 30 dollars used) and I actually have a backup unit, but I'd be glad to find out that there is a fix, especially an easy fix.

I bought this pedal used (so who knows how it was treated before) and I have gotten a lot of use out of it over the past two or three years, so I don't want to make it sound like Ibanez makes faulty pedals.

Anybody?

I have the same issue with my PD7. It got to the point where it wasn't worth keeping it on the board.

They tend to fail, but can be easily replaced. Not sure which exact switch you need but I can check this later & try to find it at small bear & co.

Double post! :X
Should be this one: http://www.pedalpartsplus.com/mm5/me...egory_Code=SWI
This one should also fit: http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=34

You could also try to email Ibanez customer service. Parts number is 91350402-00 and according to the service manual it's called "PUSH SW SPPB512300".
On the PCB it is also marked as "SW3", but it should be easy to find.

Good luck fixing the pedal!
