Considering the pedal is now acting like a kill switch, that is very likely a symptom of a wire breaking loose inside... a wire that was not soldered properly. |

Wouldn't be the first time I heard of that. Unlikely this is it, but maybe, just maybe. Read about some soldering hackjobs here on TB and it was basically the same problem - here's hoping it's just that.
Hope you get that pedal fixed, man.
