Idea for improving my tone loss

Sign in to disble this ad
So I run my guitar tone through an effects chain that, i think, is kind of long. I thought about buying an AB/Y switch to short the signal chain or so i could blend clean tone when i use wah or distorion. I usually play some fuzzy or overdrived parts in my band and some wah and i thought i could blend a clean tone with the AB switch on top of these parts so the clean tone will blend in the mix. Another reason is because i have a lot of effects in my chain. It goes from my bass to 3 meters cable and then through 5 pedals and then into another 3 meters cable to the effects loop and then back to another 7 pedals and then to another 3 meters cable back to the amp. So i thought if i'll run clean tone right from the start of the chain to the amp will it help for the clean tone?
Thoughts?
