If I have an EHX Bass Micro Synth do I need a Groove Regulator?

I searched but didn't find any comparison threads...maybe someone can post a link or help me out.

I have a Micro synth on the way and have been thinking about getting a Groove Regulator. Would this be redundant?

I wont be gigging with either for now...these are for practice and just enjoying the groove.

I would think not, since the 2 are voiced very differently and serve very different functions. I'd say to play with the BMS for a bit and (if you can) demo a GR to see if you need one or not. If you can't demo, listen to clips.

Which BMS are you getting, the old gigantic one with its own power supply or the XO model? Also, which Groove Regulator are you looking at?

Put the BMS in the GR's Effects Loop.

as a proud owner of both, the GR1 is a wet, funky envelope filter. the XO BMS can be used to get an envelope filter sound but it will be not even close to the "wetness" of the GR.

+1. A delay is also icing on the cake.

A standalone filter and a BMS are different beasts. I use both depending on the situation.

Cool, I have a nice delay pedal. Now I just need to find a nice phaser...I had an MXR but i didn't like it that much.
