If money were no object what distortion, envelope, and octave pedals would you buy.
Note: Pedals only. No rack units.

Distortion:
Green Sovtek Big Muff Pi
Analogman-modded TS808
Filter:
Keep the 3leaf, it's perfect
Octave:
Boss OC-2 (more natural sounding octave down)

For distortion, I'd have to think about it. I guess it depends on if you very specifically mean distortion, or if fuzz and overdrive pedals also count. If it could be fuzz, again I'd probably get something vintage and rare like a Univox Superfuzz. The Schumann Lion would definitely be on the list as well and is more of a distortion. Keep mind I haven't actually used any of these pedals but if I had unlimited funds I would buy them based on their reputations. |

Envelope: I don't know. I had a G5 and got rid of it, wish I hadn't now that I am a living room warrior and no longer gig.
Octave: The multi switching Foxrox Octron or a Bass Whammy.
If money was no object, I would hire someone to recreate the Bass Whammy and the Deep Impact though. Quote:

Or an Octavius Squeezer. That sucker does EVERYTHING. I'd just need time to learn how to use it.

Octave: MXR Bass Octave Deluxe
Filter: Mad Professor Snow White Auto Wah
Dirt: Probably a Voodoo Lab Superfuzz to be honest
And that is the order I would run them in. If you intend to put the dirt before the filter, I then might go with an Analogman Sun Face, probably Germanium for that application. |

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Dec 2008 Location: Long Island, NY | | | i dont currently own a distortion or really have a need for one.. i use my brown dog for all dirt-fuzz sounds.
filter- ive got a mutron and DOD FX25.. really have no desire for any other filter, but i do use both of them and wouldent be able to choose only one. (funny, money is no object..and the $40 pedal is competing with the $400 mutron..)
im pretty much happy with my OC-2 as on actave. ive liked the sound of the mutron octave, but its big and needs a power supply..but ive also heard the octabass gets close to that... so that'd probably be the one. |
