No singles and no midi?

Might as well be Tom Hanks, cast away on his deserted island hangin' with Wilson....

I guess I'd go with the Zoom. I'm pretty happy with it but I prefer my Blueberry for overdrive.

Boss GT 10B. That mother has the kitchen sink in it, and is easy as heck to program.

The GT-10B. I have the 6B and it's pretty well-rounded. I can only imagine the 10 being even better.

Im staying out of this thread.

Well after this post anyways

Seriously tho, my 2cents: One of the zoom ones. The 7.1tt or 9.1 or whatever. At least you can have the distortion before or after the wah/auotwah. Plus they are fairly cheapish (iirc) and some of them have a tube or two

I'm not into amp modelling so I would only look at strictly multi fx - IMO the bass pod is not a string fx unit, it's strength is in amp modelling.

Either the TC Nova System or (if money was no object) the G System, if they work well with bass, although i see no reason why not. They are also analogue effects, so none of those nasty digital sounding artifacts.

Or the new Rocktron Uptopia B200 & B300. I'm really intrigued by these as I know how good their other stuff is. I look forward to reading reviews on this soon and perhaps trying one out.

I have the Boss Gt6B, and some of it is ok, but a lot of the truly useful effects like compression and the drive model are really, really bad. The sound very artificial and digital. The drives sound like digital clipping, no gentle warmth at all. I can't see the GT10B being much better, but I'd like to be proven wrong.

I'm also intrigued by the new Zoom 9.1ut as it seems to be very versatile, but in that price bracket and having used zoom stuff before will it be better than the TC or Rocktron, perhaps not.

TBH, I don't think there exists a multi fx unit with everything that I need and want, so I'll make do with individual stompboxes.

There is however another option, but a not a cheap one, and perhaps not for your avergae pub gig. Either a laptop running NI Guitar Rig with dedicated pedal system, or IK Multimedia's Amplitube SVX with their pedal board. Althought these are primarlity amp modellers, the fx are just as good, and they are almost infinitely tweakable. There's also IK's new Stomp IO unit that negates the need for laptop as it's all built in. Looks like it could be fantastic, but with any of these systems, I'm not sure I could trust a software based system to be stable enough!

PS the V-Bass AFAIK can be used as a multi-fx bypassing the hex p/up for guitar modelling, so is still a viable option.

Pod X3 pro with the biggest foot-controller.

But I would prefer single pedals, as I use and am currently upgrading.

I don't think the TC stuff is analogue except for the overdrive on the Nova system. That one I'm curious about but I heard from someone around here that it wasn't so good for bass. The G-system looks really cool but no OD so that's not an option for the one and only.
I had forgotten about the Zoom B9. That looks very intriguing. I'm not into modeling per se except that's what digital overdrive is. The Zoom's models do a pretty decent slight drive but they loose their charm as the gain increases. However, I must confess I generally prefer fairly low gain drive so my opinion on this is slanted.
