Clips onto the bridge, no need to worry about surrounding noise or plugging in a lead. So simple. http://www.shorelinemusic.com/access...FQuuQwodnlhj_g |

If you're dropping to D a lot, or tuning a low B, it can slow you down. I still use it for "around town" gigs when I don't want to heft my pedal tuner (attached to my pedal board). |

Alternatively - learn to use your ears. They're free.

I think I got it for $30 | The PT100 is a very good tuner but I tend to use a Korg DT10 during live use as the PT doesn't stand up to heavy duty (ab)use.
For home use I use an el cheapo (its all plastic on the outside and doesn't have a backlight) essentune thing. Its about the the size of a cassette tape, only a little bigger, and is one of the most accurate tuners I've ever had. I found it lying around before a gig. I thought it was from the band from the night before, but was informed that a band hadn't played their in about a month. Therefore its mine!

Its small, square shaped, sits flat and the view window is angled. I think Ive had the same battery in it for like 2 years. Then again, I cut it on, tune my basses before first set and they rarely go out of tune thru the nite,so I just turn it off and maybe check again around 3rd set. The notes (letters) are very small but I just watch the LED's and it goes to each string automatically as you tune, no need to move a switch or dial for each string. One tip here, I place it on top of my amp head so I put some velcro on bottom of the tuner and on a spot on top of my amp so it does not move around, then I just run a short patch cord to my tuner out. Stays in place and I just rip it up to pack after each gig, just a small 1"-2" piece of velcro does the trick. |
