The only change I do now with jamup is maybe a bump in gain to get the tone or growl from the amps and small tweaks on my active EQ on the ibanez sr505 on the bass knob to add just a touch more oomph or set it flat without bumping up or down the bass on the amps. It sounds great just like the other amps. I feel now to just change amps to select a different tone for going from song to song in the set list. To get he "feeling" for the different songs. Without doing a lot of different presets. I have my gain settings instead of default gain setting for each amp saved to a preset and that's it one preset for each amp. Super simple and super easy to change on the fly during live performance.
Jamup has really made it easier for me live.

Jamup has really made it easier for me live. | Who ever thought that instead of changing effect presets, we'd be changing amps!! I love this stuff!!
What I've been working on is setting up banks of presets, and arranging them in a logical order. There's a lot you can do (and it'll be major for your situation) with presets. Instead of having to change effects inside each setup, just save it as a preset and if you need a different amp with say, an overdrive, save a new preset.
Jamup is so powerful it just blows my mind, even before you add Audiobus to the equation.
I also just invited the guys at Positive Grid to our party here. |

The only thing I can think of/find is in Jammit, but I'm not into paying $4-6 per track.
5sg.

| | How does he do that? | | | | | I added another track to SoundCloud with the SVT BL. I'm liking the lows there better. Will post my settings shortly...
...and here they are.

Also, maybe we should take advantage of the preset sharing capability?

Also, maybe we should take advantage of the preset sharing capability? | I've shared a couple of presets when I first started using Jamup. It's kinda their community. I always add stuff if I come up with something cool.
Speaking of something cool, I couldn't wait and added the LA/2A Tube Comp.
As soon as I plugged in and played one note, I freaked out. There's MY SOUND!! Do yourselves a favor and add this comp!! The clarity it adds is downright amazing, and every note has more definition than before. It's like taking any of these great amps and hearing them in a top-notch studio. Really sounds THAT good. You can't really HEAR it working, but turn it off and you'll notice it right away. It works great on ALL the amps.
I can see where those who like the high gain stuff might decide to skip it for an OD or the Sansamp, but this thing is cool!! When they give us the ability to use both OD and the comps together, it's gonna be awesome(ER).

I still prefer the LA2A. Just seems more "natural" sounding I guess.

Anyway, even a newer clip on SC, called White Trails, kind of a jam think I've cane with.... |

I am using the griffn tech interface on my Iphone4 and using garageband and amplitube. With any of my basses, it seems to overdrive the input if I am getting loud enough to play over the tracks. Any suggestions? |

Turn down the input level in Amplitube. It's in the Settings section of the menu at the too right pull down.
Or turn down the tracks while recording your bass, and adjust the mix when you're done.
Also, what are your EQ settings? If you scoop your mids, you're gonna disappear in the mix. |

I'm not actually recording any bass, just learning tunes when I'm out traveling without my usual laptop practice setup. Thanks! |

Thanks! | Yeah, it's kind of a tough call without screen caps of your settings. The setup menu is very important. Make sure you're not overloading things on the way in.

In the setup section you can see if you overdrive the input or output of the app.
Otherwise, most amps in AT will distort early when you try to get usable volume. The B15R is about the first amp which stays clean until really pushed.
On the bass amp which is an Ampeg CL keep the bass under 12 and boost the mids.
And btw you are on the right thread! This THE thread to discuss this stuff, no other thread in the world is better then this for iOS and bass playing. I might sound arrogant but we love what we do.
Garage band is not bad. The main thing for almost all amps on Amplitube and Garage Band is that in order to get decent clean volume it is often best to dim the master gain on the amp and turn the pre amp gain as high as you can until it star to distort, then back it off slightly.
You can also use the limiter pedal in Amplitube to gain some volume. |

| | How does he do that? | | | | My wife just came from the post office and what did she bring? A package containing a GruvGear Fretwrap 5SG edition!
I already put it on my Jazz V. And yes, it does help with the muting (sort of like palm muting but down on the neck rather than by the bridge).
5SG edition stands for 5sg (fivestringgecko), who generously sent me this wrap absolutely free!!! Thx!!!
Now I may be able to reverse the "Myung Effect" in my playing... At the very least, if I buy a beret, I'll look like Anthony Wellington!

Parametric EQ pedal (or EQ pedal voiced for bass frequencies.)
Now that I'm running this whoopa$$ LS-2A compressor, everything is so crystal clear that I can hear certain frequencies that I'd like to tweak a bit, and unfortunately can't with only bass, mid and treble available on the amp. The EQ pedal is voiced for guitar and just doesn't do it for bass. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
