Now that I'm running this whoopa$$ LS-2A compressor, everything is so crystal clear that I can hear certain frequencies that I'd like to tweak a bit, and unfortunately can't with only bass, mid and treble available on the amp. The EQ pedal is voiced for guitar and just doesn't do it for bass.
Rip, there is a 2-band parametric EQ in the FX master bus in MultiTrack DAW. Have you tried that?

My favourite thing about Amplitube free, is the auto-synch feature in the delay pedal, when playing along with mp3's.

Is there an equivalent feature, or at least a tap button, in any of the JamUp delays?

Just search John Myung Bass Track or John Myung Isolated Track, in YouTube...

This is interesting with all sorts of other people, too. Cliff Burton, Roger Glover, Greg Lake, Chris Squire...

...Oops. Is my age showing?

Not yet. I've been spending my allowance on pedals in Jamup. I've got Audiobus and Loopy, but I've been using my external recorder (an ancient Roland VS880EX) to record myself. Makes uploading to Soundcloud a REAL pain, so I'll be getting MT DAW very soon.
I've been having so much fun playing now that I've got such an awesome bass sound. I can see it being a problem trying to convince the soundguy that my iPhone sounds better than my amp!! But it is very much true. The LA-2A was like the final piece of the puzzle. As soon as I started playing, I found the sound in my head.

This is my normal recording rig. Simple yet effective. An ancient Roland VS880EX from the late 90's. Still works great, pots are a little scratchy sometimes, but everything functions and I know it inside and out.

It even has a little "mojo".

If you were out in the market for a unit like this, what would you get?

Wow, that's a tough question. The 880EX is a digital 8 track, with a pretty cool array of Boss style effects. I've used this thing since probably 2000, and I've replaced the drive once in that time. I've got cd books full of demos and polished recordings, and I know the system very well.
However, when I bought it, it was $1600. Now, you can get one for $200-300. If I had the cash to invest in a new DAW, I'd buy an iPad.

Not that I've seen, but I only have the tape delay pedal that came free.

Auria and a Presonus 1818VSL?

(Sorry, but this IS an IOS thread- couldn't resist)...

Seriously, though, if you have a decent laptop, I'd get a suitably-sized FireWire or USB interface, and go that route.

I still have an old Yamaha AW1600. It was a great desktop recorder for 2005, but computer recording has flown right past the all-in-ones for flexibility, cost and utility. Even with USB out on the Yammy, transferring tracks out to the intrawebs is a pain in the...

...neck.

Using an old one is good for the environment. But buying a new one seems pointless to me, unless you're looking for a simple audio scratchpad for your gig bag, and don't have an IOS device. Then something like the Tascam DP-004/008/-03 might make sense, I guess.

Speaking of using the old equipment I still have 3 Alesis blackface ADATs and the remote these were like 4000 bucks a piece when they first came out that's not what we paid for them. We bought them on there way out to add to our Protools digidesign 002 for more inputs we paid like $300 for the ADATs and the remote was thrown in.

24/48kHz WAV

Had some idea's yesterday, and also have been testing the LA2A comp and the red comp in Jamup, so here are a few clips:
A kind of "glam rock" bassline, this is one is for Rip (GK tone):
https://soundcloud.com/duke21/p-bass-and-gk-glam-rock
Just checking is the glam rock tone fits a real poodle rock tune from the 80's which was also recorded with a P bass:
https://soundcloud.com/duke21/europe-glam-rock-p-bass-and-gk
My own creation of the moment, my Ric into B15 and some plate reverb:
https://soundcloud.com/duke21/white-trails
And one more for Rip, Free Will/Rip by Rush intro:
https://soundcloud.com/duke21/free-rip-no-comp-la2a-red-comp

Btw, all of these tracks are recorded and uploaded to SoundCloud as 24/48kHz WAV!!

Is it possible to connect a regular microphone, say a SM58, to an Apogee Jam?

Loving all the apps they've added support for like Animoog woooo

I could spend so much money on the ipad, but still less than what I spend on the average pedal

Now to get a 25key midi controller and a decent midi floorboard.

I'll think so, why not?

There are several mics out there which can be connected to an iDevice through USB or headphone socket.

Btw, I've just been to the post office, your iRig is on its way!

Just got my iTrack.
I'm at work now, so I'll not have time to use it until later, but I'm using it now as an DAC/ headphone amp to listen to music from my Mac. Sound great!

The only thing I can see being an issue with using the EQ in MT DAW, is that in a live situation it's probably going to be best to have as few apps running as possible. Audiobus is great, but I'd worry about running that many processor intensive apps at the same time for extended periods. I can see hang-ups or pops developing after an hour or so of running constantly. I hope this isn't the case (and I will be testing before taking it out on stage) but it is a concern.
On stage, I'd probably just run Jamup and live with the tone I've got. I'm really just being picky at this point, anyway. Kinda trying to find something wrong with Jamup, cuz I really don't have anything to bitch about!!

Indeed, probably best to run Jamup XT alone live.
We shell ask for a Para EQ.
What you say guys we make a wish list, which is "realistic" thus not too big etc. Rip or me can then send it to Calvin on the behalf of all of us. We can in a way sign under the list so they can see that there is a number of bass player who wants these amps/ stomp boxes etc.
