Parametric EQ pedal (or EQ pedal voiced for bass frequencies.)
Now that I'm running this whoopa$$ LS-2A compressor, everything is so crystal clear that I can hear certain frequencies that I'd like to tweak a bit, and unfortunately can't with only bass, mid and treble available on the amp. The EQ pedal is voiced for guitar and just doesn't do it for bass. | Rip, there is a 2-band parametric EQ in the FX master bus in MultiTrack DAW. Have you tried that?

Is there an equivalent feature, or at least a tap button, in any of the JamUp delays? |

This is interesting with all sorts of other people, too. Cliff Burton, Roger Glover, Greg Lake, Chris Squire...
...Oops. Is my age showing?

I've got Audiobus and Loopy, but I've been using my external recorder (an ancient Roland VS880EX) to record myself. Makes uploading to Soundcloud a REAL pain, so I'll be getting MT DAW very soon.
I've been having so much fun playing now that I've got such an awesome bass sound. I can see it being a problem trying to convince the soundguy that my iPhone sounds better than my amp!! But it is very much true. The LA-2A was like the final piece of the puzzle. As soon as I started playing, I found the sound in my head. |

It even has a little "mojo". |

The 880EX is a digital 8 track, with a pretty cool array of Boss style effects. I've used this thing since probably 2000, and I've replaced the drive once in that time. I've got cd books full of demos and polished recordings, and I know the system very well.
However, when I bought it, it was $1600. Now, you can get one for $200-300. If I had the cash to invest in a new DAW, I'd buy an iPad. |

(Sorry, but this IS an IOS thread- couldn't resist)...
Seriously, though, if you have a decent laptop, I'd get a suitably-sized FireWire or USB interface, and go that route.
I still have an old Yamaha AW1600. It was a great desktop recorder for 2005, but computer recording has flown right past the all-in-ones for flexibility, cost and utility. Even with USB out on the Yammy, transferring tracks out to the intrawebs is a pain in the...
...neck.
Using an old one is good for the environment. But buying a new one seems pointless to me, unless you're looking for a simple audio scratchpad for your gig bag, and don't have an IOS device. Then something like the Tascam DP-004/008/-03 might make sense, I guess. |

We bought them on there way out to add to our Protools digidesign 002 for more inputs we paid like $300 for the ADATs and the remote was thrown in.

I could spend so much money on the ipad, but still less than what I spend on the average pedal
Now to get a 25key midi controller and a decent midi floorboard.

There are several mics out there which can be connected to an iDevice through USB or headphone socket.
Btw, I've just been to the post office, your iRig is on its way!

I'm at work now, so I'll not have time to use it until later, but I'm using it now as an DAC/ headphone amp to listen to music from my Mac. Sound great! |

Audiobus is great, but I'd worry about running that many processor intensive apps at the same time for extended periods. I can see hang-ups or pops developing after an hour or so of running constantly. I hope this isn't the case (and I will be testing before taking it out on stage) but it is a concern.
On stage, I'd probably just run Jamup and live with the tone I've got. I'm really just being picky at this point, anyway. Kinda trying to find something wrong with Jamup, cuz I really don't have anything to bitch about!! |

We shell ask for a Para EQ.
What you say guys we make a wish list, which is "realistic" thus not too big etc. Rip or me can then send it to Calvin on the behalf of all of us. We can in a way sign under the list so they can see that there is a number of bass player who wants these amps/ stomp boxes etc. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
