Which means JamUp is in an excellent position to tap on a fairly large community because no one has become the "Amazon" of bass amp/efx emulation yet (did you hear that Positive Grid?). | I just resent the link to this thread, as well as your comments just now. Well said!! |

thats a fact....Jack | I know I won't be disappointed. My initial forays into the iOS music app world has bean mostly pleasant...even with the sub-par iRig. I bought the Fender pack from IK because of their complete lack of bass equipment so I figured a Fender Bassman was better than nothing. Still it was better than I expected.
I've now gotten the iRiffPort and it's much better. I use the GK app to practice. I'm really excited to try all the stuff I've downloaded- JamUp XT (not pro because I'll want to download specific additional equipment namely the bass pack and God knows what else,) Loopy HD and Audiobus.
I already had GarageBand which I didn't find it as useful as I thought I would...I guess not quickly figuring out how record my bass into it with the iRig turned me off. I also have FunkBox which is fun but again not as useful for me as I thought it might be...I guess because of the specific drum machines they emulate.
Regardless, I know I'll have fun over the holidays!

If so, please post your signal chain and thoughts. I've been scanning through the thread but didn't see if anyone had already commented on this.
The engineer who posted about clock noise has me wondering if any of this "interference" is in the audible range and if it is, how much of a problem does this present for recording applications.

Bass > Peavey AmpKit Link > iPod Touch 4G > JamUp > passive DI > FOH mixer.
The sound is quite good. The problems are cable management and iPod power management.

it goes: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/attach...8&d=1355689327
bass cable to art usb dual pre
the art to usb cable to apple usb to 30 pin in my ipad2
in the ipad jamup xt does the deed
back out to the art via usb then a 6 inch patch cable from monitor out to DI
i havent had any power management problems the art is self powered and the AD/DA is done outside in the ART and is monitored out from the ART too instead of the headphone out on the iDevice.
after the sets or practice i still have over 75% battery life left.

You should throw the LA-2A in front of the Redhead. You'll crap yourself when you hear how it sounds. |

I'm mostly interested in the mixdown capabilities. What's the EQ and effects like. Also would like to know how and if it functions with guitar plugins. One thing that pissed me off about AURIA was I had to buy their guitar plugin, which still has many bugs that need to be worked out. Cost me $20 and still doesn't function as it should. |

i saw our video just now.... nice slappin'. i dont slap....because i never have been any good at it mostly, and i havent really needed it (i tell myself)
bummer about the guitar plugin not working as you'd expect.
With MTDaw and audiobus you could use JAMUP XT or you can do the Prieto Technique and MTDaw AT or jamup or whatever

The bass expansion pack kicks ass. I really dig the GK and Blueline; they've been fun with the Sansamp. I'm looking forward to trying the comp after your comment(s) about the LA2A.
In the long run (considering running multiple apps), I'm currently limited with my 3GS. But, I'm so impressed with JamUp that I may have to exercise my "share rights" to my Wife's iPad2. I really hope that the folks at PositiveGrid continue this kind of "attention" - that it won't die off after the newness wears off and app purchases settle down (like they've done with AT and AK, I would assume). Q1: How are you guys changing sounds live, in-song? It seems Griffin's Stompbox and JamUp get along well and it seems a good price at Amazon right now. Anyone try it? Q2: How many of you are getting cellular traffic interference? I'm suddenly getting the typical cellular traffic cross talk, when I wasn't before. It sounds odd, but really, the only thing that's changed in my setup is: update to IOS 6 (from 5) and JamUp. I now must Airplane Mode my phone or it's noisy; for whatever reason this never, ever, happened until now (using IOS 5, with AK, AT, etc). What puzzles me is the change.

maybe rip can help i know he uses his phone
