That said the OC-2 clone is better than the real OC-2

The low end interfaces from Focusrite and Presonus (Scarlett and Audiobox) don't have switchable pads on the input, and they both get a lot of negative reviews for overloading with strong sources. Supposedly, they have a bit too much gain through the channel, and they don't fare we'll with hot pickups.
I hoped that the iTrack would be an improvement, thinking that since they were already re-engineering the unit for the IOS environment, they would probably fix the gain structure/headroom issues while they were in there. Sounds like maybe they didn't. |

But since you mentioned country it seems that "new" country is just old country lyrics with a twang and late seventies rock music I've actually have liked some of the new country but when I start listening I (in my head) smack myself and say what am I listening to and change it over to a 70's, 80's and 90's classic rock station some of the old nasally country makes me heave. what's your favorite (modern band) not genre. So of the modern era who "gets" ya. Country or not.......who's really good out there and makes you nod your head as your driving down the road. You know what I'm talkin about. Of today.

Anyone given any thought to the Digitech IPB-10 looks like it can control or at least work with Loopy and Jamup
I believe there are some options to create blended sounds between an app and whats in the pedal?
Torn as to how much I spend on an interface and controllers etc with Apple changing the hardware specs so often.

The more info we can cram into this thread, the better. | Got it today for Christmas so I've only played with it a little bit. But from just trying it out a little bit I can tell its going to be a great device. It's clear and quiet and it charges your ipad at the same time which is good. It has a mono guitar jack input, midi in and out and stereo output. I could imagine some people missing the fact that it has no xlr ins but for bass and guitar it's awesome! Will do a better review once I've played with it more.
Merry Christmas from Australia. |

In MT DAW under source you need to select Jamup as source, not Griffin studio connect. If you pick the griffin you get dry sound |

Haven't seen reviews about it and I do not know if all the bottoms will work with other software then Digitech . |

Yes, no pad switches on these units. Luckily I do not have basses with hot pickups, my hottest one will be my Squier CV60 p bass.
I'm not sure if a hot pup will be a problem on the iTrack. The problem is that according to the manual one suppose to raise the input gain until one get the green light quite steady when one plug the string. But I've found out that if I ignore the green light and set the gain at about zero (on the mic channel) the green light will appear only on "load" notes, but the tone in Jamup or shell we say the input gain in Jamup seem to be perfect.
I'm not sure how Jamup controllers input gain as there is no adjustment for input gain. In Ampkit and Amplitube there is a section for input/output adjustment.
Inn that matter including the lack of mic and cab choices Jamup looks less professional than Amplitube and Ampkit, but by the end of the day Jamup sound much better so it doesn't matter...
I do have pad switch on my PBDDI, and I did try it with the PAD switch engaged. I needed to boost the gain on the mic channel then on the iTrack to about 12. But I found out that without the PAD switch engaged and the input gain on the mic channel sett on zero things turned out to be perfect.
The monitor volume knob on the iTrack controls both the headphone preamp and the line out. Prefect in both cases. I connect the iTrack to the Aux input on my Ibanez bass combo which goes strait into the power amp and bypassing the preamp of the bas combo. So I can control the volume on my combo from the iTrack, very useful feature.
So, it seems like the iTrack works fine with Jamup if one use a DI and the mic channel! But I hope Positive Grid will include 2nd channel support so we will only need to connect our bass directly into iTrack without additional gear.
So, my conclusion after reading Steve comment, wand the iTrack now? Get a DI box with pad switch in case you have a hot pup. |
