This thread has been inspiring. | If you're interested in making music with iOS devices, you're in. Simple as that. This group is really growing. Maybe we SHOULD assign numbers and make it an official club.

| | All bass, no talent! Me endorsed? | | Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada | | I use the Digitech iPB-10 for bass and it sounds killer.
No idea why more bassists don't use it. At $499, it ain't cheap but it is cheaper than 2 boutique effect pedals. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/ampli...ad-integration
I Also have amplitude, but haven't been able to spend much time with it yet.

I am looking at the apogee plug, does that work better than the iRig plug? | The retailer where I bought my iRig tried to talk me out of buying it. He told me that at least 75% of them are returned due to noise issues or general poor quality issues.
I have had no problem with mine, but barely use it.

If you have any issues with your bass distorting, start every app through Audiobus and it'll fix it.
I was having problems last night, when I started adding extra loops of my bass along with loops I had imported via Audiopaste from DM1.
I shut down all the apps, then opened Audiobus first, then opened each app through Audiobus. |

I am looking at the apogee plug, does that work better than the iRig plug? | Yeah, the Irig is noisy, but it's tweakable.
I use Jamup XT, and their Noise Filter is pretty decent. Doesn't neuter your tone. The one in Amplitube plain out SUCKS. Don't use it.
Ignore your eyes when you're tweaking your tone. If it sounds good, it is good. Listen to your ears. |

| | ☼ | | Join Date: Aug 2011 Location: Marlborough, MA | | Ok, so I got the iTrack Solo (focusrite) for Christmas.
First off, I plugged into my iPad(2) and without turning on any app, I had sound. Beautiful crystal clear sound. How does that work?
Then turned on Garage Band to test it out - yep - works great (you have to switch to Channel 2 in GB as the guitar input on the iTrack is set to Channel 2 - you can't switch it to Channel 1).
Then I wanted to test JamUp. I plugged my XLR out on my combo amp into the XLR (mic) input on the iTrack [which is Channel 1, so now JamUp will "see" it] - set up the green - red (limit lights) exactly like they say in the directions- and bingo.
Works perfect.
Now, I just need Positive Grid to add a Channel 2 and I won't have to lug my amp around! (which is the whole point!)
LOL - I'm having a blast.
Thanks for those that talked me out of "modding" my iTrack - I doubt I would have gone through with it anyway. |

For those on a really tight budget, the iRig can be made to work surprisingly well, but it's finicky.
The Jam sounds like a piece of pro gear from the get-go. Setting gain and levels is easier and more forgiving. Best of all, the sound quality rivals much more expensive, full-sized computer interfaces. |

I am looking at the apogee plug, does that work better than the iRig plug? | The Apogee Jam have great tone and is super simple to use. It cost about twice of the iRig. The only minus of the Jam is that your tone must go out through the headphone socket.
The iTrack is better on the paper but as it is now you need a DI to use Jamup. The connector cable is super short and stiff and you need a USB power supply to drive the iTrack.
Apogee jam gives best tone for the money and simplicity. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
